From Places To Non- Places: Marc Auge

My chosen quote: "If a place can be defined as relational, historical and concerned with identity, then a space which cannot be defined as relational, or historical, or concerned with identity will be a non-place.( Auge and Marc, 2008)" Marc Auge defined a place as one that complies with the terms relational, historical and concerned with identity. In the case of, as per AugĂ©, non-spaces are open to the colonization of the technosocial device on every stage that has been torn away from its social roots.  He describes places of transport as non-places because it is a passage from point A to point B. As they are not places where we "live". However, within those places are users who do use it as a place to live.
